I'm trying! This one is 2nd in line.
It sure would be nice to find a picture or 2 of it back in the day so I could see what she used to look like.

  2. Lets try and help Jerry out and find some history on this.

    It's Mine.
I sold the 35 3 window coupe and used some the the $$ to buy this.
He's my Dad but I still had to pony up some cash for this one.

HA! we're still trying to decide who's the lucky one on this deal!
He's glad it's out of his garage, but I paid less than he had in it.
I love it but it needs so much more work, and my garage is NO WHERE as nice as his.

It's back on an original frame - Ford rearend with a triangulated 4 bar, & coil overs, tubular A arm front end.

That thing is killer. IMO the 56-57's were the best looking of the early solid axle cars. Good luck putting it back the way you want it!

You might contact Jim Barnes of Barnes Custom Engines (661-327-3231) in Bakersfield. He may remember or know of that car.

  12. I helped haul this from Marina Ca to Trinidad Co for Tingeezer And was hoping Jerry could find some history on it, maybe some old pix too.

And you didn't try to talk either one of us out of buying it!
But we did sleep in a car trailer at the Pomona swap meet!

  14. The last time that car was seen was when a couple of priests were sprinkling holy water all over it under a full moon. Being the nice guy that I am, I will haul it away for you at no charge!

I'm not sure, but that may be Babe Piambinos car. He just passed away about two weeks ago. I knew him when he was into motorcycles, mostly Triumphs back in 1948, he hung around our race track. The article in the Fresno Bee mentioned his Corvette and it's name and it sounded something like that. Maybe Skipper can ckeck back on that obit.

Dude. Finally found your thread! That thing is kick ass! Seeing cut fenders like that reminds me a little of the later vette that was in the garage of the house we're buying.

    GOOD FIND MAN!

Alright - another Vette guy. Don't restore - there's enough boring stock Vettes around. Build it and make a few passes at one of the hot rod drags - you'll have f--- ball.

Man, that thing is cool... I've seen a lot of vintage drag car images and videos in my day and I don't think I've ever seen it...
