Its not a body shop anymore.I bought a bunch of stuff from Claire St Body Shop last month, he had a big yard sale and is moving to Nevada after all these years.I always loved going inside that building when I was an Auto Parts driver years ago.My Dad was the first one to tell me that Bailon invented Candy Paint there and how he used to walk by there all the time in the early 50's.Lots of cool Rodder history in these parts..

  3. R&C RON - That's just too cool! ... I've visited the site of the old "Bailon Customs" shop on several occasions ... but never noticed that inscription on the driveway ... Thanks for sharing this piece of history!

510madmav - It's in a residential area ... on the corner of Alice & Claire.

EDIT: D'oh! ... Ron & Marcus replied while I was busy verifying the address on Google Maps

What about Bob McNultys 42-46 chevy convertible with the homemade grille and Merc grille shell and a neat little scoop at the front edge of the hood. Any pics of it Ron? I always thought Balion had something to do with the way it looked.

Cory......Bailon and McNulty had their shops next door to each other , so chances are pretty good .... I'll see if I can find any photos.

I know the car was in car Craft with St. Vasquez's Chevy conv. on the front with a lime green 53 chevy. It had Chevy features in it. The car proudly had the Satans Angels plaque hanging off the rear bumper. I think it was built earlier than it was featured.

Oh yea! I think this is a overlooked car, thats a good looking front end! And Balion would be handy with the round tubing. Thats got to be a Balion grille. I think those pics are older than 1957.Thanks Ron!

Thanks Ron! I think Wayne told me the 56 Chevy was Don Harpers brother..I will check with him. Also Wayne seemed to think he was a Treasurer of the club at one time.
