A couple photos I bought at an estate sale. The back reads-Oct 17 1946 Anna and her Model A Ford of school teaching days. Second one reads - Oct 17 1946 Our home, the new Dodge pickup, Anna and Silver the cat.

Above, Hope, Martin and Gobel, THANKS to kosmix! What was
REALLY in those cups, while they were smoking on TV? Below,
George serenades Dean with his own composition: "There's a HOLE
in the bucket, dear Dino, dear Dino! There's a HOLE in the bucket,
dear Dino, there's a hole!" Photo THANKS to tradebit!

    Image THANKS to baby-boomers-r-we!

Who can forget Dean Martin beginning his TV series, leaning
on the grand piano and crooning? That evolved into him lounging,
then lying on the piano. THEN, he gets a running start and butt-
slides like the Duke brothers across the piano lid! There was a
ton of shtick on the Dean martin Show"! Then there was his
post-monologue line: "Weeeelllll, now I think I'm goin' over
    on the couccchhh!"

Dean Martin obviously enjoyed show business and popularity,
but he was pretty self effacing. He told a Playboy interviewer,
"It's the real me up there on the screen. Nothing phony. Every-
body else on TV, they're putting on an act." As for accolades for
acting or emceeing, he later shifted the praise to the many
entertainers who'd surrounded him, remarking, "Me, I'm just
    a singer from Stuebenville."

I will never forget Dino for sharing his limelight with old-time
entertainers who'd long been off anybody's radar screen! You
never knew what surprise lay in store, as the likes of Kate Smith,
Ted Lewis, Mae West or George Jessel might show up. I always
believed it was just out of the kindness of Dean's heart, as he
had PLENTY of current entertainers happy to fill available slots
    on his show.

Carson chain-smoked during taping of his show and kept his ashtray and ciggies out of sight. During commercial breaks he puffed away the whole time.

Probably tea or lemonade. Those guys were pros and being drunk on stage was a no-no. Yeah, they made us think they were drunk and made us laugh doing so but saved the booze for later on.

The first three shots are the president of the Packard Motorcar Company in a 1913 Packard doing a trailblazer journey across the USA scouting a route for the Lincoln Highway.

B Model Mack in Western Queensland, Australia after a rollover in about 1964. Pic taken by my father while dodging school to go truck driving with my Grandfather. It wasn't their truck by the way...

    Good photo.

Western (Anderson Brothers) were running close to 500 trucks about that time.

The Anderson's went 50/50 with Mack trucks Inc. in the early 1960's to set up Mack Trucks Australia. The Anderson's were Directors.
