'37 Chevy car and truck grill

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by vtwhead, Mar 22, 2011.

  1. I am assembling my 37 coupe which came to us all apart. The grill seems to be about one inch to tall to fit in the grill shell. Got on line and looked up the two grills but no one gives dimensions. Does anyone know what the dimension or physical differences are????

The truck grill is wider and taller than the car. I don't have a '37 truck any longer, so I can't tell you the measurements of it.
1" sounds like the difference, so you might have a truck grill.

My coupe measures 21-½" at the widest part and 32-½" at the tallest part. I'm measuring it as it's mounted - to the outside edge of the stainless molding.

  3. ...is it an aftermarket grille,? some of those aren't too great.

  4. Thanks TagMan for the measurements. I can check tomorrow and see what mine is.
And Rusty, it is a aftermarket grill. It says it is USA made.???

  6. ...I can get the car grille measurements tomoro...
....my 37 grille is an orig. GM grille; it measures 30 " tall and 21 " at the widest (holding tape across the grille)...and 16 " across at the bottom.
