I would like to see the '46-'48 Ford 2 door sedans that HAMBers either own or have owned. I was also like to know what experience you guys have as far as chassis swaps on this style car. Thanks

There's quite a few threads on lowering the 46-48 fords without using a frame swap, thought it won't help you since yours is gone! one thread goes into it a little i think though.

and a thread i started looking for chopped sedan photos:
    http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=308708

Do a search for "46/47/48 ford" and you'll find a lot of threads and some really killer looking 46/48 fords, unfortunately you'll have to look through the coupes to see the sedans!

    Whereabout is Sherwood OH?

    Jman..

    I had one..

    traded it to another hamber..

I would find a OEM frame before I tried to do a "swap"

mine had a late 70s sub, and it.. well.. sucked

it was too wide, and UGLY..

it did (however)let the car get REAL LOW..

the car was FLATBLACK with red wheels.. so I'll spare you the photo..

I am on the other side of the state from you, 1/2 way between Toledo and Ft. Wayne.

I had that coupe for a while when I was in PA that I got from Grumpy. It had a Camaro stub on it and sat pretty nice. The Sedan actually has a mid '70's Monte Carlo frame but I do not care much for the idea of it. I would rather use a stock one or something newer. I liked how the coupe rode with the IFS so that would be a definite plus.

koolkemp, you and me both. Bump my "chopped" thread back up :) maybe that fella who's dad chopped that nice white one has the pictures by now? I can't believe there's so few of these sedans out there in kustom land... maybe too big and bulky that nobody took them on?

this is mine as it sits currently...still being built.

J Man, yeah those plymouth grilles are sharp. Got one from a HAmber about a month ago. not an *exact* fit in the 46-48, but close and do look killer. here's a friend of mine from Orlando's old '46 coupe with one. Will be starting that soon on mine :)

I'll be in Nelsonville for school. Going to Hocking college for Wildlife management. Plan on being a game warden here in OH. Plus, i love that part of Ohio so it will be a nice being down there.

I went to school there for a year. Seems like a long time ago now. Not much to do down there, atleast for me there wasn't.

Tudor, what kind of chassis is yours on?

  28. It's stock with a 74 nova clip. There are some more pics of it in my album. Fat man makes some narrowed GM arms that will get the wheels in if you go that route. My car handles and rides very nicely the way it is. I would like to have one with a stock frame and all the chassis engineering goodies etc. I've got rear parallel leaf suspension with a 10 bolt chev rear. =

here's how not to do it :)

Ditto on that. I don't Fords either, or chevies for that matter. I only love Mopars, Datsuns and really small Italians bikes that my big ass should never be mounting.
