Anybody else going to the swap meet at Chickasha this weekend? We just decided last week to go and will have to get spaces when we get there.

  2. Planning on going and getting a couple of spaces also. Looks like it could be a swamp if the rain keeps up.

yep, key word is IF. Just looked at the forcast on MSN and it calls for thunder storms everyday through Friday. Might put a dampener on our plans.

Looks like you might need to take a poncho and some rubber boots!

I have a 10x10 easy up.Most the parts are in plastic bins.
I have a slicker but no rubber boots.

Is there a prefered hotel(s) in the area?
I'll sleep in the truck if I need to...
Never been even close to the area in my life.
But looking forward to a adventure !

Is Thursday the day to be there,or can I wait friday for set up?
Nothing like a little 10 hour drive...

Its too late to pre-register. You'll have to get spaces at the Meet.
There will be a booth set up there for those like us. We'll be out in the boonies, or swamps depending on the weather.

I plan on going one of the days. It will probably be a swamp meet because of all the rain we've had lately. Something about that place and standing water.

I don't think they allow motorized vehicles anymore and if I remember right, they were telling people no bicycles last year. Worst thing they could do is tell you to put it up.

I'm betting the swap meet area will be like a pond or lake by now. I don't know the exact amount of rainfall, but it's a lot. :( I have a buddy who was talking about going out there to check out the grounds, if he does I'll give everyone an update.

you guys do know it is now in the east grounds, no longer on the fairgrounds, that means all the streets are raised gravel and all the spaces are low as in rice patties now..........I suspect standing water in about 90 percent of the area all weekend, was half covered last year with water and mud and it was in a drought... ??/ enjoy .....

I buried up last year and they only had an inch of rain for the whole week prior. We have had 6" in the last 5 days.

Called down there earlier and it's still on. They guy said they had plenty of spots, but all of them had water. He said they had gotten 4.5 inches of rain and by now more should be falling. :(

Yes,it is wet here in Chickasha.
    I'm in spots A-79,80.
Back against the fence near the corner.
Not much standing water in my area, but there is good fishing pond across from me.
Hope to see some Hamb'ers this weekend.

    PS,PawPaws makes a good burger.
