I have a pair of new running boards for a 52 ford pick up that I need to paint and would like to know what you paint guys think would be the best and most durable. acrylic enamel single stage or would a base clear be a better plan. I will be painting them gloss black.
    Thanks James

I used bedliner. Ya it may sound hokey but its durable and it lasts. It starts out gloss black, but its not uv protected so the sun fades it. But i have a satin black truck so it matches pretty well. But they do make some that won't fade. Can't tell its bedliner till you're really close.

The ones that are on the truck now have been done that way and that is not the look that I am wanting.

I use shopline single stage acrylic enamel.
It looks good and holds up well.

    Hey,

Why not a full urethane single stage? A stronger, more chip resistant finish than an old acrylic enamel!;)
