image.jpeg Here's one from roughly 50 years ago at Niagara that one of the guys on the Fans of Niagara Dragstrip Facebook page found for me. Close as I can tell I'm the young redhead standing next to the Austin.

Sorry to hear that, John called me a few times, always a fun conversation. His restoration of the Austin, has to be one of the best ever. R.I.P. John.

Sad to learn about John. Thoughts and Prayers for his Family and Friends.

  12. Unfortunately the struggle with the loss of his wife and the battle with his insurance co. denying meds for his back injury overcame him........

I went to High School with John and ran into him two years ago at Lancaster during their vintage racing weekend. He told me about his wife's passing and his back issues. He really struggled with both but the loss of his wife was devastating for him. RIP Trouble, really good guy, he'll be missed by all who knew him.

RIP John, that's a truly sad story, the loss of his wife and then his own passing at a much too young age.

What will be the fate of the Austin now, who will be the next caretaker ?

I was going thru some photos, of my father in law’s, and found this pic from Sep. 1969. If someone knows the owner, I will send it to them. IMG_1767.JPG

  19. The new owner is Matt (can't remember his last name) and the car is now in Michigan. Here it is at a concours de elegance last summer in Michigan with some very famous company IMG_2246.jpg
Photo by my good friend Dave D from Gasser Wars magazine taken early morning during set up.
