In my 49' Chevy coupe. Changing over to 12v v8 etc... trying to keep it as stock looking as possible. I ended up gutting the original gauge housing and cutting up some equus mechanical gauges in order to fit this application. Wiring the car is next on the list. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. Very slick. Perfect color on the needles, not to modern. Are you able to turn the bodies of the gauges to ''calibrate'' the reading? How did you renew the face numerals?
Thanks guys, the gauges I found are a 90* sweep. So I clocked them as correct as I could in the openings. As for the #s and lettering on the glass it is all stock. Oil pressure is obviously not 0-30 lbs. anymore but will give me a good idea where needle should be. It was a fun little project. Now I'd like to find a cool *small* old school looking tachometer to mount under dash. This was a super low optioned car. No radio or even a heater. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
