Going to start another build thread

Brought this home today. Going to get an early olds motor and lots of other goodies Ive been finding and putting aside. The cab has the usual bottom belt line issues but overall really solid

I am usually successful into tricking my wife into some manual labor now and then. Here's a shot of her helping me get it off the truck. The smile on her face says it all.. Haha

I'll be posting lots of updates

stopping to take a pic of your wife holding the cab is not going to get you any brownie points from her. ...and she doesn't look happy. :D

  8. Nice project! Wife's frown....priceless!

Can you post a pic of what you are using for a connection between the yoke flange and the drive shaft. Thre are a couple of us guys that are planning on the same drive line and would be intersted in seeing how that is coupled.

Nice find Jerry looking forward to your build. Oh" and dinner and a long
foot massage really help to ease new hot rod pains.

Had to look twice, your wife looks a lot like my ex! And the look would be the same, and she would say " that's money we could have used for a vacation".

Nice looking cab, Jerry. If you're going to keep the original dash & need to enlarge the gauge holes for post '34 ("modern") gauges, I think I still have my custom wooden hole saw guides for the 3-3/8" & 2-1/6" hole saws. And what sort of frame are you using?

The motor is a 57 olds J-2 adapted to a 60's Ford 4 speed with a Jeep top shifter. Nice strong tranny, easy to get parts, and when in the car looks like 39 from up above, especially when the shift handle is modified.

The cab looks good in the pics but needs work all around the bottom .. The doors too. But it could be worse

The frame will be homemade tapered and swept 34 rails with a 37 X member

F-1 brakes ready for disassembly and blasting..and an old 32 axle that was out of the jersey Orange Crate 3 window. Holes drilled in 1956!

Looks like a real decent cab. At least from what I could see, the door hinge areas don't look mutilated like so many of them tend to be. Love the engine choice! Will be keeping an eye on your project, for sure!

Still gathering parts. Donor frame for X member that I brought home tonight. The X member is in nice shape and should work out nicely between the fab'd rails.

Also thinking of doing a small roll pan under the bed with sunken tail lights hidden behind these 36 horn covers .. We'll see

Got a nice set of 16 in wheels too .. Ready for blasting and a new set of Firestones
