Wasn't there a picture of a car resembling this in some pictures I looked at from Viva this past week?

I will have to look and see if I can find it.

I have seen a car that looks almost to a "T" to that one that you are inquiring about. KNUX! Pix from MoonEyes'06 photos taken from fellow HAMB'r BoxRod.

You mean this? Well that's what came in my mind at first when I read Ryan's entry. --mika

Shit. That looks like it. A definate survivor in any case. It is always interesting to track down and match something from back in the day. Kinda like that CSI show. KNUX!

Here's the thing about '32 sedans...

32's take on a new character when they are chopped because of the a-pillars. There is just something about the proportions there that allow 32's to be heavily hammered without looking stupid. I haven't studied pictures long enough to nail it in words... but, it seems even more profound with sedans... The long and low roof makes em so damn sinister...

  9. By the slant of the A-pillars, that almost looks like a '34 with a '32 grille shell... The pic is kinda small and fuzzy, but thats how it looks to me...

Chop a Deuce Tudor that much and lean the posts back instead of lengthening the roof and that's the look you get. It get's pretty pronounced. I only chopped mine 2" and had to lean them back close to 1/2 and inch if I remember right.

Not that hot rods don't change, but overall (stance, channel, etc) I don't think either of those look like the car on the cover.

    If your gonna chop a tudor....whack it...HARD!

  17. Possibly, it's the Dean Moon sedan that ran at the lakes in the early early 50's.

so far id have to agree with this one... the duece at viva was strictly a drag car.. not to say it didnt change somewhere along the line but.. so far id say the dean moon sedan is the closest..

Yeah, check out the grille shell mounting height in the first two (possible) cars, posts #3 & #5 ----- compared to the magazine '32.
The magazine '32 shell just looks taller, especially compared to post #5.

Like Kevin Lee said, hot rods can definitely change through the years, but I'd pick post #17, "lurder mick" out of the three possibilites so far.....

    Just my $.02

The one that 53burb posted is Diana Branch's car and was built by Fabian Valdez a few years ago. Not the same car.

Here's Larry Keels' car from the late '50s. He bought an old lakes sedan body and merged it with a '32 woody from a junkyard...

I don't know why this image doesn't appear in the post. Tried to post this once before, with the same result.

Squeaks car is a definite survivor. Its is an ex bonneville/drag car from the late 50s and still powers a NASTY sounding dual quad bored & stroked nailhead. That paint job (or whats left of it) is the original paint from way back when.

  26. I saw it at Hot Rod A Rama in Tacoma, WA a few years back. Things awesome!

  27. That is a nice sedan.
