I am sad to report that Gary Glenn, sign painter and pinstriper extraordinaire has passed. Many know him, and many have seen his work with out knowing it was him. I do not know all the details, as I am getting the info second hand. Many good laughs were shared with Gary. for those on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/garyartrageousstudios?fref=ts&ref=br_tf shine on you crazy diamond...
I knew Gary going back to the 70's when he lived here in Orange, CA. He did a lot of custom murals and back window paintings for the Original Van & Mini Truck Scene at his shop, Signs & designs. His Warlock Van was in the movie Rock & Roll High School with The Ramones. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQkoFDD8lPc
I was just talking with Gary a few weeks ago about an old dirt track car he lettered. The new owner wanted to add his name to it after removing the old one and I wanted to know what I was working over. He sounded like he was in good spirits. We got to spend some good time at the Detroit Autorama this year talking about the good old days. Too many friends are going too fast.Godspeed my brother of the brush!
http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/cholecystitis/DS01153/DSECTION=complications I was told he died of heart failure during the emergency surgery to remove his ruptured Gall Bladder.
I didn't know him personally but being in the same business I knew of him . His work was always well done and attractive . RIP
