    Answers to a few questions:

    1. I'm not actually attending a Vern Tardel camp. I'm just here for the week, staying with Keith, and needed something to do. Vern put my ass to work.

    2. I don't know if there will be a part 5 as I will be getting ready for the Hot Rod Revolution on Friday.

    3. Pictures. I promise to eventually do a post that features the sites of the ranch in the next week or so... I've taken quite a few pictures despite my rather long chore list.

I'd like to know more about this "camp" you mentioned. Does the Tardel Ranch offer a working ranch kind of deal, sorta like the movie "City Slickers" with cars, instead of cows?
Enjoy Day 4, thanks for another great morning read!

Yes, it's a hands-on thing. Has been covered in prior posts with links for more info. Looks like a pretty cool deal, but requires a lot of scratch.

I've really enjoyed reading this the past few days, thanks for taking the time to share your vacation with the world.

Cool pix too, looks like a great place to wander around in looking at stuff.

Work will make a man out of you.

  21. Nads... you're a nutter. A funny nutter, but a nutter nonetheless! :)

Ryan - What a great chance to learn some neat stuff from an amazingly knowledgeable guy. I spent half a day there, and funnily enough, I ended up working too!

Vern seems to have that effect on people! :)

I'm so glad you are having a good time but I've missed you terribly. I can't wait to get out there tomorrow and complete the Cochran/Tardel quartet!

My Dad drove a truck like that to high school. Would be nice to still have it in the family.

"I then showed my “shop bitch” level of experience by forgetting to unbolt the truck’s chatter rods before attempting to hoist it out of its bay. Embarrassing."

Did the same thing when I pulled the motor on the Merc for a rebuild-- Damn those hidden anti-chatter rods!!!

  30. Glad to see he's putting you to work. You know, Uncle Buck says a little hard work will put some hair on your chest....ha ha.
