i need to lean out my edelbrock carb a little bit. i really dont know much about carbs, so im having a hard time here. i went to the parts store to get metering rods and seats, and they asked me what edelbrock carb i have. one of the numbers was 1407, and some other ones. how do i tell which one i have? is there a number that i can find on the carb to help me out?
1407 is a 750 CFM ... Go here ... http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_new/mc/carbs_acc/pdf/carb_owners_manual.pdf
sweet, that will come in handy when it comes time to tune it. i just need to figure out what it is. i think i should be able to find that part number on the carb.
Look at the left lower part of the carb base plate ... on the carb above the number is 1407 then 0256 The 1407 is the part number. Look on your carb and find the number in the same place and then compare that number to to the chart I linked to you. That will tell you the carb size.
maybe mine isnt an edelbrock then? looks like one, but without the sticker. where that one says 1407, mine says...E1 9500SA
You can use them as long as its a AFB style. I have swapped them back and forth between carter competition series and eddies for years. The AVS style uses a three step rod which is longer, but can be shortened.
the older style had a hook end on the top part didnt it? mine look like any other edelbrock metering rod i have ever seen
