Time to submit photos for the 10th HAMB Calendar. Wow, really, 10 years?

You supply the photos... I design the calendar... You buy one for everyone you know... Ryan gets the proceeds... and you get a kick ass calendar with images suitable for framing. Everyone wins. Previous calendars are collectors items now and, they have won an award or two, so... submit your work and get famous.

Here's the skinny. I need photos. Not your everyday run of the mill, this is my car at the local cruise night photos... Photos that when you look at them, you automatically get it. You know, that same feeling when you stop and just stare at your ride. The photos in the calendar are about passion... spreading the gospel. Think Garage magazine, Church magazine, etc.

Requirements: Post your submissions in this thread. You MUST have hi res version of the photo for it to be used. I've gotten some really unbelieveble photos in the past, but couldn't use them cause they were taken on the camera's lowest quality setting. That depresses me. And if you post a pic you thought was cool from the HAMB that you didn't take, then find out who took it and then post it. I won't chase them down if you don't know who took it. And high contrast, heavily Photoshop filtered images don't have a place in the calendar. If I like the composition, you'll have to supply the virgin image.

Regarding pin up shots. I would love some great pin up photos. This ain't Hustler. They have to be tasteful and artistic, and I am extremely picky about pin up photography. Seriously.

Format: The live photo area will be SQUARE TO SLIGHTLY VERTICAL (haven't finished the layout), so I'm not too picky on horizontal or vertical this year but know that there is the potential for some cropping.

    COLOR PHOTOS ONLY.

Don't clog the thread with kick ass b/w photos. As much as I love them, it's pointless to post them.

After some issues the past couple years, Ryan and I would like to keep this simple. We'll have a new printer, a new design, and something really cool for our tenth year.

Post your pic here. If it gets selected, I will contact you for the hi rez.

Deadline is 2 weeks from today... October 2, 11:59pm with final selection in that following week. If I can't get ahold of you pretty quickly for your photo, I will move on.

    That's it. Impress me.

    Viva La HAMB.

BLATANT PLUG: If you are new and want to see what some of the past years calendars looked like, go to my website and view my portfolio... http://djangostudios.com/print.html You can follow me on Facebook as well. :D

How can I determine if my photographs are suitable enough to be called "high res"?

I'll be watching this one for sure..

File size is the easiest way to tell for those not in the "biz". I would say a 2mb jpg would be the bare minimum. So if you are taking photos at your camera's best quality setting, then you'll be fine.

off to a great start. looks like an explanation of the term "square" is needed before we get too far into this.

sadly, all my photos are circular.

I've got no photos to submit, I just love it when its time that this thread comes around. Kinda bummed about the less pickiness on the horizontal vs verticle. It was kinda fun for me to see who was the first to submit the photo in the wrong format.

I don't shoot in square format (unless it's on Instagram :)) so I'm having to crop some pictures from their vertical or horizontal format but the picture itself has not been touched up. Here's one for now. I'll post more up later..

I'm also having difficulties getting them uploaded to PhotoBucket so I'm uploading them to my Flickr, so if you want a bigger view of the picture, click on the picture and it'll take you to my Flickr page.
