well since there was a little spoken of my new car on the "track nose A" thread i figured i would post some pictures.
this car is by no means finished. i just painted it right over the welds to take it to the jalopy showdown on a trailer...it does have a motor and all the mechanicals in it...just need to do all the plumbing wiring and finishing touches on the body, make another seat etc.
this is a 28 sport coupe that i cut up.
its channeled 4 inches, shortened 3 inches in the doors, rear deck stretched 5 inches and lowered 3/4 then body lines added around the back and along the bottom. the doors are thinned down a good bit and the whole interior capped off. the frame is Z'd 2 inches in the back and the front end has 37 front spring perches welded to the back of the axle making it a sort of suicide front end...its 46 axles and spindles and brakes, flathead V8 motor with a 3 speed toploader trans. well anyways heres the pictures

wow, thanks everyone....didnt expect so much response from a "coupe"

the nose scoop sides will get filled in and alot of other things...this is just a "so far in the progress update"

shiny. i didnt end up using your posts...these are the stock ones..the roadster stuff needed changed around so much seemed like a shame to cut it up and i decided to leave the bigger step as the last remaining stock coupe part

Very clean, very simple, I dig it a lot!
I like the grill and axle fairing the most.

Why haven't you posted build pics?

    thanks everyone
ive been keeping quiet about this car so that i could hopefully drive it to the jalopy showdown and have no one really know about it beforehand....but that didnt happen, got in a little over my head for the short time i had to work on it with all the aluminum stuff i decided to do...so here it is
i have pictures of most steps along the way if anyone wants to see anything

    thanks

  17. I'd like to know more about what you did to the body, you said you stretced the deck 5 in, could you explain that a little more.

it looks dead on, very cool.

I saw it *in person* at the Showdown, and took a lot of pics of it......it's even better in person.......Zach, you will be heard from in the hot rod world.....the car is more creative than anything I've seen lately, and your workmanship is top shelf......the aluminum parts were very creative, and I especially liked the indent where your pitman arm was.......nice......pic attached.......

Can't wait to see it with that Hallock windscreen.......very cool......

  25. I see, that makes sense, I wondered if you changed the length of the quarterpanel, to replace what you took out of the doors? I figured you would have to do that so that the whole body wouldn't get shorter, but it looks like you didn't? I hope that makes sense. Again, it looks great.

Yeah, I spent a half an hour soaking in all the details. Very, very cool stuff. It takes a special set of skills to imagine that special look that makes everyone go WOW!. What makes it better is that you have the skills to hand form this stuff to make it come alive.

Sorry I missed you Zack. I really wanted to learn about your work. You've sure got "the eye". My highest compliments. I forgot my camera or there would have been a lot of detail shots of your ride.

    thanks everyone...

i did shorten the entire length of the body 3"...i took it out of the sub rails behind the doors but then remounted the quarter post..and then shortened the doors 3"

heres the car when i chopped it 4" and when i roadsterized it but before any actual changes other then the 3" shortening
