    Hello,
I want to use a Ford AOD in a Forty Ford Sedan.
I would like to know which one, out of what model is the preferred trans.
to use ? what are some differences in the AODs, improvements draw backs ect.
    Any wisdom welcome !

  2. I would suggest a post 86 AOD trans. There are some improvements over earlier transmissions and you will usually find closer ratios on transmissions from Fox body Mustangs up to 93. There is a ton of information on these transmissions and a stock trans should handle 350 hp if its in good condition.
A good site for information is www.clickclickracing.com. The AOD requires a TV cable that connects the carb linkage to the transmission. Its important that this is adjusted properly to prevent damaging the transmission. hope this helps

TCI makes a constant pressure valve body that still requires the TV cable, but isn't as "Gnat's Ass" on the adjustment. Van AODs shift the opposite of cars....
