I first read about it and thought, "oh no!, Another traditional car image that will be turned into an aftermarket billet queen!". Following its progress, I am happy to say that they have avoided this pitfall.
The truck is nice and somewhat reminds me of Ladd's AMBR contender. This is not a negative comment in any way. It is a nice mix and appears to be another quality build.
Hats off to Raybestos! This is surely the best message they could send to Hot Rodders that they believe in the hobby and want to service our needs.

  5. Hope a lucky HAMBer wins it!

I wish I could make room for it, but I work for a Raybestos plant here in California. That is a beautiful RPU!

Thanks Ryan, now my wife is pissed, she might have to give up her space in the garage and park in the mud.
You have a great site, thanks for keeping it heading in a traditional direction.

That thing is about as nice as any car I have ever seen. Troy and the crew really are some of the most talented builder out there right now. I love their work and this truck is an example of them at the top of their game for sure.

I can't wait to drive it!

Looks like a wicked little rpu and an awesome rendering by Norwell.

  16. Love the truck. I am entered.

Love the story good to see regular Joes makin' it. Its a lot like the stories you read about the fellas from the good ol' days. just out to have fun and makin' it to the top in the process.

BTW I have always liked Raybestos Brakes. I run them when I have an option. This is not a plug just the truth.

motor does not look very traditional. I figure if I look at a motor and can not identify it it does not belong in a HOT ROD.

It's the new 2011 Ford Mustang 5.0 Coyote engine 412 horsepower. It has Hilborn injection and an adaptor to mount 427 Ford SOHC Cammer valve covers.

Thanks for the shout out Ryan!

BTW, if you DO choose to buy Raybestos parts, you can get a FREE Tshirt that I designed using Norwell's art.

TOO Cool.. Troy has always inspired me with his amazing works..... Awesome

  28. It brings a tear to my eye how you guys look out for each other;).

First time I saw a pic of the truck I got wood for it.:) Cool as hell. I guess the winner would just have to live with the modren Ford cammer.
I think I'd put some 20" nice billet wheels on it and ....:D

  29. Jeff did a great job on art, of course, too bad he can't enter to win...

    and neither can I.

  30. No, it's just that the 5 of us in Western South Dakota that love traditional hotrods get a little lonely!;)
