What do you do when you get a shot of car and the background distracts or seems out of place... here is a couple shots were I dropped out the backgrounds and one that I even changed up the car a bit

A pair of Studebakers from my twisted mind...a '62 GT Hawk with a '52 Buick roof line and tail lights and take a bunch of left over parts, put them in a bag shake it all up and out comes a '50 Studebaker with a 57 Buick roof line, 55 Ford grille, 55 Chevy side trim, and 55 Ford tail lights..

So I did these 3 acrylics, plus another (Nick's '56 Nomad) last weekend at Super Chevy Sunday here in (R)Adelaide. A fine day with fine folks.
7 hours intense painting in 88° UV+ heat. Hat, shirt, seat- no sunglasses. Burnt my eyes some on all that sunny chrome 'n' paint.

See ya at the SMASA Show & Shine at Regency Oval this Sunday.

    Great start everybody.

The Econoline is really cool, and the bubble top car is awesome :)

    This week, 2 Fords Model A: a 30 coupe & a 29 pick-up.

n.b.: The big red "A" means "apprenti" (learner) in France and you have to put one on your car when you begin driving.

I am consistently impressed by the excellent artwork that shows up here every Friday.

    Here's a little watercolor I did for a friend's art project.

  20. 1320Paul, lovin' that woodie - another great start to the show tonight.

I only ever seem to get anything done when I'm under pressure.
Had our clubs bi-annual rod run 2 weeks ago, and I kind of created a monster around 20 years back when I drew the Rodder's Choice winner to give out as the award. Used to have about 36 hours to get it done, but we've moved our prizegiving forward in the weekend so now I count the votes at 8 on Saturday night and present the award at 8 on Sunday night. I'm gettin' too old for this kind of stress.

So while everyone else is gettin' all liquored up on the Saturday night, I've gotta' sneak off home and start drawing a picture:rolleyes:.
Luckily this year, the winner was real easy to draw, and I was back at the party before midnight, then framed it and did the graphics on the Sunday morning.

It's a whole bunch of self imposed stress I don't really need, but the look on the winner's face usually makes it all seem worthwhile.

    Particularly in this case..... Congratulations,Craig.:)

  21. Hey Bear, that's keen. Jigger that's bitchin', you are one funny cat. Rubens, rockin'- Yoo- Back & bitchin'++.

  22. Do it. Bomonster prints are bitchin' as far as quality materials go. I highly recommend.

  23. wow, genuine acoustic art with no gizmo, flash, big time candy ass computer enhancements, well done man. I'm diggen it. -H.R.D-

  24. Damn. Fine work all of you and it is only 5:20 AM.
    Later,
    Dick

Here's something I put together for the upcoming Glen Designs Seminars using his hand lettered fonts. He's lettered everybodys cars from Force, Prudhomme, Blue Max and hundreds more.
