cleaning old halibrand magnesium wheels

    just got a front engine rail with old halibrand magnesium wheels, very dirty rough lookin, was wonderin how to clean the wheels?

    if they are really rough and sorta scalely ....fine glass bead them ....avoid sand blasting as it will open up the wheel and make the porosity really show....especially on the older halibrands.... brandon:D

  6. A long time ago I did this pair by hand with the tires in place. I used steel wool and Brasso. I wouldn't even attempt it now, my hand would probably fall apart before I finished one.

    wrights silver polish and steel wool works great, this was less than 5 minutes worth of work.
