Ok I just got word on the footage..

Larry Watson made this film in the 80's I just want to make it clear and I want to make sure that he gets the credit for it.....

I got the footage from the Barris camp along time ago and it is not being used for profit... Just to make it clear... it's for our enjoyment only...

  6. Awesome!

Did the show have a name? Or was this a typical Sunday afternoon in SoCal?

I love Barris's final detailing! You wouldn't see them doing it that way these days! Back then they use to tow Ala Kart to shows with a tow bar (In fact, that's how it was flipped).I wonder if they were called "Tow Queens" then?
    Great stuff!

Did anyone else spot Neal East's '47 ford custom coupe? And how about Ak Miller's mexican road race T being street driven? Priceless footage, thanks for sharing.

WOW!!! Does that not bring back the memories? That could have been car shows I attended at just about the same time in Ada, Oklahoma. The videos bought back a sense of nostalgia and a sweet sadness of that time. I remember a little red '32 truck named "Mike's Wagon" that bought home First Place in every show I attended. I can still see that custom to this day. I think all of us can remember a special car that seduced us into being "car guys". That was mine. Thanks, this is a great feature.

  12. What a great film, wouldn't it be something to see these cars in a show today!
I'll bet none of them knew what icons there cars would become years later.

I have the program from the "Coachman" car clubs show, July 16 & 17 1955.

Their shows were put on at the Excelsior High School in Norwalk.

FANTASTIC! Can't wait to see more "movin' pictures" on this here site.

First, Unlike YouTube, this thing doesn't crash my system.

Second, I am amazed at the quality of the cars at this local event ('course it was L.A.)

Next, Those guys really manhandled the girls - Oh, that's where the term came from! Barris' lady was way fine.

And finally, Roth was a total greaser (garage grease that is) before he found that Top Hat.

Big thanks on the new feature to all involved.

Ryan-- Kurt McCormick showed me his video copy of the movie by Spencer Murray after the truck pulling the Dream Truck flipped over and they both rolled over. It also shows them putting the Dream Truck on its wheels and loading it up. Murray filmed this only minutes
after the accident. Have you checked with Kurt McCormick to see if he would be willing to put it on H.A.M.B.? If you don't have Kurt's

You definitely made my day!! It made the little pages of Rod & Custom come alive at the local movie theatre. Please gather as many videos as you can and become a regular feature. Thank you very much.

    1. When the 3 bikes get their trophies the guy on the second one is said to be Von Dutch (uncomfirmed??????)

    2. I think the guy at the end of part 2 is Grabowski.

    3. I was told that it was originally Dean Jeffries who took the pictures. He was supposed to know someone with an airplane. His girl friend Carol Lewis owned the flamed 56 Chev at the beginning of the movie. There aren't any scenes with Jeff in them so he may have been the cameraman. (Unconfirmed???????)
