I have a lot of free time on my hands these days and I'm thinking about supercharging my Cutlass. I've been looking through all the parts I need but the one thing I can't seem to find is a manifold. Anyone know of any inexpensive ones or a manifold that can be modified to suit my needs?
"Inexpensive ones?" HAHAHAHAHA Good one. The only dedicated Olds blower manifolds I have ever seen were cast by Sharp in the 1960s, as used on the Hurst Hairy Olds. All the aftermarket Olds blower setups use fabricated manifolds. Usually they start with an Offy dual quad single plane manifold. The carb flanges are milled parallel to the crank centerline and a thick aluminum plate is bolted or welded to the manifold to mount the blower.
I think he had one for B&M back in the day Dave Smith Engineering 25078 Road 196 Exeter, CA 93221 559-562-3500 Fax:559-562-0100
Blower Drive Service stocks a manifold for the 350 Olds. Part # BDS8506. $1066.99. Some blower shops (Hampton, Mooneyham, etc.) will convert your aluminum manifold to 4-71/6-71 with a bit of maching work and a welded plate. Most likely less than the price of the BDS unit. Good luck, -Abone.
Dude, you come on here with a 1972 cutlass looking for advice, parts etc. You never did an intro, and your car is not what this forum is about. In you carb running rich post you claim you are broke that is why you are asking for suggestions so you can fix it yourself. Well if you are broke, you sure as hell can't afford a blower. Do yourself a favor and find a muscle car, old, or cutlass forum to hang out on.
