The above is a pretty typical photo that could have been taken then or now. For whatever reason, most of us stop here and take a photo or at least a long look. we were worried about something twisting so we build this structure inside the car to hold the top in place as the cuts were made. You can see the B pillars have already been cut. Here is the finished project........2 3/4 inches from the front to nothing in the back......the top layed down in place
When I chopped my 57 Buick , I didn't have 5 helpers so made a wood a-frame to hold it up.As the chop was to be 2-1/2"a block that size was add to the a-frame. After the a and c pillars were cut and reworked the blocks were removed and top lowered . TwoChops left click to enlarge
