This was on our car club board this morning:

The Ed "Big Daddy" Roth Orbitron was found last week and now has a new
    owner.

The car was found in Mexico. It was used in a carnival for several years
and then as a trash can in front of an adult book store until just last
    week.

The new owner hopes to restore it.

"As agent for this endeavor, I will have up dated information to ya all
within the next couple of days."

Are you freaking serious?!?!?!?!?! I think that bit of seediness only adds to the car's cool factor, but just the same - WOW!

I've got a green flake steering wheel with that same spoke pattern. I hadn't seen another with that pattern til now.

    Cool

I am so amazed that these old customs keep popping up as junk that somebody just throws away.

    Original photo...

Roth was never much for it... Said it didn't do well at the shows because he covered the shiny new SBC...

It never ceases to amaze me how in the hell somebody can just discard something like that. Damn, what's next...the Hirohita merc with top cut off and made into a kiddie pool?

  18. I can't believe the tips of the front fenders are still intact! I figure somebody walking by could've cracked those off by bumping into them

Unbelievable "find "stories that come to this forum in all types.
This is really cool. "Setting in front of a Mexican porn shop" PRICELESS!

    Hahaha... he WAS! ;) :D

Wow, that is a crazy cool find. It'd be interesting to hear the story of how it ended up at the carnival, then THERE, in front of a Mexican porn shop!

Sounds like it's in good hands.... can't wait to see what they do with it.

  25. I cannot believe the valve covers, steering wheel, rims/tires aren't stripped.

Park a Civic down there and it's on jacks within minutes.

Perfect chapter in the story of an Ed Roth car. Glad it has been found and will (hopefully) be restored to its former glory.
