Save the date gentlemen... November 23rd... It's gonna happen. New venue that is something special and somewhat close to Austin, TX. Details to follow.
Great news! It's Texas' closest thing to a traditional hot rod show since the Roundup has gotten so relaxed about the crap they allow into the gates.
Words cannot describe my excitement right now. perfect weekend so everyone can make it out. cant wait to hear where the new venue will be (hopefully something similar to the powerplant)
Great date ... great place. Now I just gotta get the roadster ready. I'll be back with pix and pre-registration data soonest! Really glad to hear it's a "GO!" for 2013.
The bands last year were fantastic. Any word on the lineup this year.. or possibly anything going on in Austin the Friday night before and the Saturday night after?
Someone asked that in this thread: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=833344 The answer was "yes".
Any pictures from the last one online somewhere? I will try to make it, but nothing to bring yet. Bitten but nothing to cut, grind, and weld on yet.
Renee and I will be driving down early Thursday morning. We will be in the Merc or the flattop'd Impala so we will have to park in the alternative parking spot. Looking forward to spending a long weekend in Austin. I plan on avoiding I 35 and taking Hwy 281. Even thought it might take a little longer, it looks like it might be a kooler drive. Is Hwy 281 Merc friendly? Happy Trails, Mick
Hell yeah and not too far for me either. Finally get to go check it out, hope the weather holds out...
posted this in the other thread but making sure it gets seen: I have a '61 so can't be in the show, but it looks like it would be a great drive down and check out some cool cars. A few questions: Looks like it's a go but the site still doesn't have too much schedule-wise and want to make sure I don't miss anything.. any idea when a schedule would be announced? Also about the preferred parking... is there a cost for that? And no registration needed right? Any info would be helpful... cheers!
What hotel is everybody staying at? When I made reservations with T and M Resort they tell me they do not have food or beverages on site or close by. They already billed my credit card for the first night with a 48hr cancelation required for refund. Looking for better options.
Late response Fly'n but I went the bed and breakfast route with the girlie... some interesting looking and reasonably priced places right by the show
