Old Campers...Let's see what you got!

Discussion in 'The Antiquated' started by mctim64, Jun 4, 2009.

  1. I have noticed that a lot of guys have Classic campers and/or trailers, I just love my old Alaskan it's a '58 and goes great on my '58 F-100. I have noticed in following the story of the "Fordillac" that flynbrian48 has a very nice trailer to pull behind his Pontiac wagon, that's one now let's see what else is out there. :D

Kool camper, Tim.. Mines not as kool, I have a 68 Teardrop 12 1/2 foot camper for my 70 Chev 3/4 ton truck my grandpa bought new. Looks pretty kool pulling my old 66 flatbottom, though. Should have taken pictures before I buried it in the shop...

  8. One of my friends has tons of that stuff, lots of aluminum trailers of all sizes, a couple vintage pop-ups - one with a semi-streamlined body like I've never seen before, has to be 50s or older. And then he has this thing with the face only a mother could love. It's supposed to be a factory conversion on a Chrysler frame. Aluminum body, of course someone gutted it in like the 70s to use for who knows what. But it's like a trailer that doesn't need the tow car -

Hey that Alaskan is cool! Looks great on your truck. I don't think we'll be able to pull the Spartan behind the roadster, maybe a Mullins.:D

  13. Thanks! That set up of yours is the best. I love your "36 Special" with a nice touch of British with the MGB windscreen, certainly better than using Lucas electrics. :p

Real cool. X2 on good thread. There's got to be more out there. Sure beats being in a hotel sleeping in a fuck stained bed wondering if anyone is eye-ballin your ride in the parking lot.

COOL THREAD, this is my 1958 King camper . Sits outside our shop for guests to stay in when in town . I only use it a couple times each year on the road. And my son Scott uses it at Newport as the offical trailer park camper head quarters for the weekend as well.
    Love these old trailers.......

  20. Bubba, I like it! You bring up another question, how many guys use their campers for guest rooms when visitors come? I know I do.

  21. Nice shop Bubba, I like the '29 with the 302. Way cool!

  22. A friend out at El Mirage brought this one with him, I thought it very nice. :D

This is a 1957 Ford, Gruman, Olsen Kurb Side. Converted to a camper sometime in the '70's judging by the orange shag carpet that was in it. It has a Mopar 413, pushbutton torqueflite with a 3 speed Brownie. If you like it I could be talked out of it.

  24. Here is my set up. The teardrop was homebuilt in 1949. I use it LOTS during the summer and have towed it over 15,000 miles in the 3 years I've owned it

Just picked this up. Late 30's early 40's Alma Liberator. Dont know much else about it. Any body with info I would greatly appreciate it. Found brochure online but mine looks older than the illustrations.
