    Hi Robert,

One of the guys in our club had one built very recently by "Rooman" here on the HAMB. He is located in Indianapolis. Do a search for him. His work is beyond excellent.

"IrishPol" here on the HAMB is just north of Austin. He did the body on Skotz flathead dragster, as well as the modified "El Gato Grande".

Kingsville huh? I was born there

  17. Was gonna mention Brian Fox, but never mind :D

Tom Hannah if you are looking for the best fabrication and authenticity. He started making these in the early 60's in California. Known for building Don Garlits' Wynns Charger,Creitz and Donovan, Keeling and Clayton's California Charger, considered by many to be the world's most beautiful front-engine dragster ever built and many, many others. His shop here in Wichita, KS is still turning out unbelievable new cars and does many restorations on original FEDs. Be aware, speed costs and so does top quality fabrication

If you had any real idea as to what it takes to make a well proportioned, good fitting dragster body you would understand the high price.

Add in the fact that you want the most complicated style of body thats not an unreasonable price for a professionally built body.

The car in your fuzzy photos looks like the Bonzi II formerly owned by Eddy Bowman from Texas. Do you have that car???

Hold up.....I wasn't trying to piss on anyone's shoes by saying $10,000 is out of the
Question. I know it takes a masters skills to build a body. I just don't have that
Kinda money to put into a body. 2nd I don't have the car. When powers and riley
Teamed up with noel mauer in 1965 noel got a garlits chassis and powers and riley
Provided the power train. The car was only ran for one year. Noel told me
In 1966 they took the chassis back to garlits and had it stretched and him and willis
Put a hemi in it. They put a new front half body on the car and re used the back half.
My dad has the old front half to the body.....still has original paint.
We was looking into re creating that 65 car. First wedge powered car to
    Go over 200mph.

Noel told me after they stretched that car in 66 it only had one shoot...
They were making a test pass and the clutch setup was wrong....he went to stage
And brought the rpms up and it pulled him through the lights and red lighted.
They wanted to get one more pass in and they fixed the clutch but the track made them
Wait till midnight....he said it was dark in the shut down area and the car started to
Hop off the ground. He said the only thing that saved him is they built the track up
Four feed and the end and he hit a tree. After that I guess they went with a woody gilmore
Chassis and built a new body with two shoots.

It was a awesome phone call. Talking to david powers and john riley and noel mauer
    was a great.....
