Our Outkast member Tony took his 1930 model A to the Texas Mile this past weekend and posted a best speed of 154.309 MPH in the standing mile.

This pass was 146 or 148.

    See ya at the drags:D

Built in 44 days by Tony. 1979 454, 6 spd manual trans (he didn't even get it into 6th, not enough room). Rebuilt motor, roller rockers, cam, msd dist, other goodies.

    Pics from the Texas Mile.

A turbo, nitrous busa did 230 mph!

There is a pic of a yellow GT40 and there is another pic of a cloud of dirt at the starting line. That's the GT40 after it spun out into the infield. Cool to watch all that $$$ go offroading.

The GT40 did 222mph. There was about 5 of them there.

Was on of the GTs sporting Missouri tags? Local guy here has 3 or 4 of them not to mention a slew of other very cool Ford iron.

  12. Cool run...!

On a 1 Mile course do you think a different rear gear would help utilize the power band and possibly fully utilize 6th gear...???

How fast did Truitts car run? The black with red scallops 46-47 was originally built to run at Bonneville. he is an Outkast also isn't he?

Best thread I've seen in a looong time. What's the story behind this, a public highway that's officially blocked off for this event?

Codeman: I didn't look at plates, could've been.

Hula: The second vid is from Lonestar Raceway after Tony blew the radiator hose off the motor and the thermostat was a concern.

Truitts car had water pump issues and only did 115mph.

Wingnutz: Yes a different gear would utilize 6th. Tony brought 3 different sets of gears. We were chasing fuel and timing issues on Saturday and made 4 runs all day. Fog shortened the time for runs on Sunday and we didn't have time to do a rearend change. The bottom line is we needed more than a mile track.

8flat: Old airstrip, they're supposed to have 3 events for next year.

The chick in the chair rides the skateboard with the briggs motor and did 105mph, lying down (street luge). The sporty engine one did 114mph and set a new worlds record. Her dad was riding it. The fastest skateboard in the world.

The little Briggs powered one went 105 mph. The one powered by a HD 1200 Sporty motor did 114.xxx mph and set a new worlds record for a skateboard.
