It was a fun day in Dewey, OK as Mrs. PF and I arrived Saturday morning and set up "Camp Poverty Flats" with an ez up tent and a few items for sale.
The town itself has alot of antique stores and a nice setting for the show.
The organizers made us feel welcome. Thank you to Mick who was friendly.
I got to see alot of friends and that was the best---
I like cars........but to me it is about the people who own them---

my pal Chaddilac stopped by to help us taste test some new pie recipes Mrs. PF has been working on with her little "poverty pies".
As you can see in these photos she made a few apple and cherry pies on Friday to take with us to Oklahoma on Saturday. It is light snacks like this that help us "keep our strength up" when walking and talking at big car shows...:D

I got to meet Duncan (Arkiehotrods) from Conway, AR in person for the first time who is shown on the right in this photo with B. Scott Studio on the left (who made the event t shirts) and my pal Harry (wizard23) in the middle.
Duncan performed an impromptu wedding ceremony at the show in the afternoon but I don't know the name of the couple who got married.

    and speaking of Harry wizzard23---
he came walking up with a container of smoked cheese and sausage from his own personal stash and even gave me 2 ice Cold Cokes to help me "keep my strength up"
That was nice of him and I see some pies in his very near future...

and across from the hotel is the Tom Mix Museum. He was a big silent film cowboy star and the museum is wonderful and has a theater inside.

-From the Tom Mix Museum in Dewey, OK--
a replica of his horse "Tony"
and an example of some of the silver laden artifacts
    held in this collection.
Tom Mix was my Granddad Kruse's favorite cowboy actor because he started as a real rodeo cowboy stuntman (with the 101 Ranch traveling show) who did his own rope tricks and so forth without a
stunt double. Their were many larger than life cowboy hats and so forth too.
Also in the museum were the heavy aluminum suitcases that killed him when his speeding yellow 1940 Cord Phaeton stopped suddenly whe he realized a bridge was out ahead and the suitcases flew forward from the backseat and hit him in the head at age 60.
Tom had made 370 full length cowboy motion pictures (mostly silent films) and at his peak was the highest paid actor in Hollywood.
He also served the US Calvary in the Spanish American War and was a hero to many people.

and this hot rod coupe should have been in a special parking area because of it's history....
instead it was kinda hidden and parked in a shady area that was hard to showcase it.
