Never met him… But loved his art allot! When I was young… if a copy of Road & Track came my way… the first page I would look for was the MG Mitten add and his awsome illustrations.

Sad new's, Prayers are with his family. He was a big influence on me as a kid, I tried to copy his drawing style and I also built all his model kits (Zingers?) Kenny

  12. My first real job in auto motive was for a company named Auto Haus. We were the largest retailer of VW parts and Dave did all our logos. He was always fun to be around.
    Godspeed my friend,

Very cool to know you were involved with this company. One of the greatest logos EVER.

Very sad to hear the news on Motorburg.

Incredible INSPIRATION, very skilled, multi-faceted man.

    Prayers from here.
Dave was responsible for all our t-shirt designs as well as cartoons we have used in our catalogs. Great guy and fun. Did some work for us several months back and was quite ill then but still wanted to do the work.
    Will be missed by all!!

    he was great

  20. Dave Deal started me on my life of automotive illustration with one drawing, a cartoon fuel altered in a mid seventies Hot Rod magazine, I still look to that free flowing, dynamic style as the ultimate in characature car art, and where would the movie "cars" be without him... another generation inspired by the genius.

    Thanks for everything, Dave :)

Bummer. I walk past my display of 'Deal's Wheels" kits in my collection every day. Somedays I will stop and just check 'em out again and smile.

Today I will think of the man himself. 'Big' loss.
