Cool, we've got 5 confirmed HA/GR cars running tomorrow, I'll let you know how things go as the day progresses. We have to run in the Hot Rod class as we only have the 5 cars, but hey, it's better than not racing at all
Nice. Vids & pics? Hell, it took us five years, and three classes of HAMBster, to get five cars showing up out here.
Any day on the track is better than one in the stands. A couple of brews with friends after makes for a complete day Have fun and be safe.
Not a day I care to remember too much. After a rear end ratio change, the car goes slower. Oh well back to the drawing board. I must say Barry and Matt have their Slantie humming really well. Off the trailer 13.4 @ 100 and change mph, and got down to a 13.2 @ 102 mph, don't say anything to the ANDRA team though. Then these boys get into making Johns Slantie go a whole second faster than he's gone before. That's the kind of commorardery I love about our class.
Nigel, what about the bloke who neglected his clutch adjustment and then decided to put coolant down his lane, supposedly to keep the dust at bay? Or the bloody idiot who was baulked by the green and purple machine slowing up to avoid breaking out, only to lose that elimination by a whisker and then post two 14.75's on a 14.75 dial in and end up on the trailer. Oh, hang on , that last idiot was me. All in not a bad day's racing after a 700klm (400miles)drive to get there. Next day was 9 1/2 hours towing back from Warwick and the trusty 179 in the ute didn't miss a beat. As Old28 said, "any day on the track is better than one in the stands." Don't forget to keep me informed regarding that possible assault on the overseas racing circuit. Peter
