Rumpville- the home of the TIHSEPA Kart club, and, of course, the legendary Jocko's Speed Shop.

Great advice for interacting on Internet car forums!

My kid's school sends them out to Catalina Island. Now I know why!

    Funny stuff, thanks for sharing!

Looks like they borrowed from Ayn Rand and Atlas Shrugged. Pretty interesting idea.

I think we all live in "Rumpville" except we call it "Ryanville".......

  12. Is this where Norm Grabowski got the idea for his place, "Rumpsville"?

Who was Arin Cee? Pete Millar?

Arin Cee. said aloud is "R and C". The late, great Pete Millar.

  15. Me too...I am working on trying to complete my collection of Car-toons.

That is a natural origin myth for the HAMB, I think, and easily the best thing HR Cartoons ever did...
    HAMB's own utopian community vision!
Catalina is out of $ight now, I fear, but maybe if we all chipped in $5 we could afford some Dakota or maybe Guatemala??

That's a great strip... Seems like they printed it several times over the years... as it well deserved!

I've been collecting CARtoons for quite some time (focused mainly on 1975 til it's demise)... got a decent collection... also been scanning the covers and anything else that floats my boat and postin em on a facebook page...

There's also a great "CARtoons" thread here on the HAMB...

This is awesome to see some other Toons fans out there.
Rumpville was first featured in the very first issue of Cartoons in 1959. I break out my copy now and then when I need a chuckle.
    RIP Pete

CarToons was my first car mag subscription. I learned how to draw from that mag. I recently hadthe revelation that the "How to Draw" section spawned my interest in tech articles. I am freelance journalist now, I specialize in how-to tech.

I thought that was pretty much, undeniably, Pete Millar. I thought it was Medley who came up the the cutesy RnC, Arin Cee? Guess not? Thanks 50Suburban!

We don't have to buy a state, just move in enough folks to have 51% of the vote or greater. It should be a place where the roads are good, they have their own oil so we don't have to use ethanol, and there's lots of space. I vote for New Mexico: the Dakotas get too much Canada-like snow. Once we get our own governor, legislature, and judges we'll be set. Get the parts suppliers to relocate there for a good tax base. Other states will wish they were us.
