Default Building the Chevy II Gasser "The Boogie Man"

After being involved in the resurrection of the 41 Willys Gasser, owned by Gene Cromer "The Moonlighter" I decided to build a Gasser from scratch and see what all the excitement was all about. Here is a picture of the car we started with. It was originally a gasser and then it was partially returned to a stock front end car. Don't have many details about her. Maybe we will learn more as time goes by. I figure no one knows more about race car fabrication than I do and this will be a piece of cake.

That me kneeling in front of a few of the folks that got me interested in the Gassers. this picture was taken in front of Gene Cromer's shop while working on the Moonlighter. I own a Hot Rod Shop in Anderson SC, called Palmetto Rod Worx and build and fabricate cars everyday. HAMB>

Hey Chris, good to see you on here. I was a bit far away to have assisted on the Moonlighter Willys rebuild, but was a big time internet fan of it.

I'm sure this Chevy II project will be awesome, ... after all, you had a hand with Gene's Willys, and look how awesome it turned out.

This is our front axle. this is old skool. A 59 chevy truck axle, narrowed 7 inches, lightened and added a little caster by machining the spring perches.

Added new king pin kits and a disk brake setup. Later on we will be doing a little lightening on the brake components.

The steering rod may look a little large but it is 4130 Chrome Moly.

These are the ladder bars. 2x3 tubing , center to center 42 inch minimum. Also lightened a little.
