You could mirror it now and add a TV when your kids are older.Good luck...

Hey, I love that one...I should have put it on the other wall, opposite from his brothers room. I could have made a secret passage from back window to back window...

    Great idea....

Took the headboard back out last night so I could try to match the patina that is on the bed. I think this is gonna be challenging....I sanded the cab and put a base coat of the light blue that came thru on the bed when I sanded it. Today I will spray the red on top, and then try to create some patina...keeping my fingers crossed....

Did a little more sanding to try to duplicate the patina on the bed. This is the first time I have tried to create patina, and especially challenging to try to match a bed that has real patina.

Got the headboard back into place. Pretty close match on the patina.

Added a rear view mirror inside, and outside.

Thanks alot, the boys are loving it. I am waiting for the rubber gasket for the rear window, tail lights, and the 2 sconces for the garage. Getting close.

Damn fine work my friend! I'm thinking maybe a Hot Rod Bed and Breakfast is in your future! You know each room decorated with a different era of vehicle!

  15. Pretty slick idea with a really nice execution - uh, can you could build a queen size unit for you and the wife?!?! LOL!!!

How's the Chevy unit coming along?

Dang, this is a car bed to a whole other level!! Great idea and work! Now I just have to get making a kid so I can build one of those too....girlfriend wouldn't be too fond of cuddling up in a truck bed every night.

I love this! I had an idea for the back of a 60/61 C10 Cab that I found on Craigslist. I was thinking of doing a Glass Display shelf for some of my Diecast collection. I should have bought the darn thing.

Thanks alot for the kind words. I am working on the next one right now, in between the Econoline Build. 1956 Chevy. I have the back of the cab and the bed, should be done in a few weeks. This one will be for sale. It will be in 5-6 parts, and will bolt together very easy. The biggest part is the cab, and I might cut that into 2 parts that could be bolted back together so anyone can get it in a small house or room. I will keep you posted on that one.

PS...wifey says NO WAY on our bedroom, so gotta enjoy it with the kids while they like it, hopefully they will like it for a long time....

Thanks for the kind words. I am very lucky to be healthy enough to do these kind of things, and dont take any days that I get to work on Hot Rods for granted.

And I have always said, the world would be a better place if we could sleep in out Hot Rods.

Congratulations on your new addition. Thanks for the nice words, I am fortunate to be able to do these things for my son.

If you need me to build it...let me know, this one was built in 5 peices, easy to move in to any room or even upstairs. Bolts together. It did take more time than I thought, but I am very pleased with the outcome.
