I had big plans this weekend. My wife was out of town and I had the three kids all to myself, which presented the perfect opportunity to expose them all to some good ole fashion Drag Racing. All I had to do was load them all in the truck, stop at Wal... To read the rest of this blog entry from The Jalopy Journal, click here. |

I took no pics, but if I had a dollar for every tuff 55 2 door sedan that was there, I could've hired you a baby- sitter. It was epic, as usual. Hope the kids shared their Hot Wheels with you.

Yeah, mom's know when to let dad take care of the kids,,it's a vicious plan all women are inherently born with,,leave town and dad has big plans,,kids get sick!
![]() I've been there with our children and grandchildren,,it's the little bumps in the road that helps use stay grounded with the things that are of the most importance,,family. Sorry you missed the drags but there will be more. HRP

My wife followed me up with the kids in the mini van. The entire family loved every minute especially my 3 year old son. My wife left saying that she wants to build a drag car but she wants to be the driver! Yes, I'm a lucky and blessed man. Fun and clean event!

Because I spent some quality time with my daughter in the AM, I didn't get there until noon, and managed 3 passes until they closed the lanes.. Great day with the fam and Hot Rods!

Reposting a few from another thread... it was a blast, and it 's interesting how many folks (and this event) have graduated from 'Run what ya brung' to full-on FED rigs!!!

Although it's OT, if you were stuck on the couch this Saterday in Oz, you could have watched the all-day telecast of qualifaing for iconic Bathurst.

Great photos and it brings back some great memories. My wife and I spent several of our Sunday dates out there in early 1969 When I was at Fort Hood and she was at Mary Hardin and I raced a then new 69 Cutlass S in G stock.
