Greetings. I've checked in over on the welcome forum and told a basic story on how I came into possession of a 49 Chev 3100 but I'll postan even briefer version to start this thread.
The truck was a one owner (now 2 owner) nearly 100% stock 49 Chev 3100 and it's been parked in 2 different barns since 1969. Even tho it hasn't run in nearly 43 yrs it's always been in the dry so the bodies in pretty good shape. I knew the owner (since passed away) but didn't know of this truck until approx a month ago. and once I saw it I knew I had to have it . My Mrs even wanted me to get it as she can remember riding in the back of it back when she was a youngun back on her uncles farm.Thankfully his heirs decided to keep it in the family so to speak so here we are. It's about 50 miles away still in the barn but it's on cynder blocks now as I've retrieved the wheels for servicing so I can get it rolled up on a trailer to get it home. Good news is the tires/inner tubes will hold air long enough to get it loaded and home but life is ge3tting in the way and I won't be able to get it for another 2 to 3 weeks.Heres some pics. |

Looks like a good place to start. New seat cover, new battery and
you should be good to go.
