I purchased the Miller coupe awhile back and would like to change the fuel injection system on it!!! The engine is a 86 mustang 5.0 upgraded with mass airflow. I would like to change it to the fuel injection stack type for a more ole skool look...The question i have is it a pretty easy swap or complicated as i dont knw shit about fuel inection

Once you take the intake off they look like any other engine.
As far as you not knowing anything about injection, if you're gonna have it you'd better start learnin'. Stack injection can be bought as a complete kit for big $$$ form various companies. |

There are some really nice stack injection set ups out there . They all go on the engine the same way .
Like Waddayacare said , everything is the same when you take that intake off ! Retro Jim

Probably not!
Whatever kit you buy should have everything you'll need to adapt it to your car. Although some mods may be necessary. That's why it's called "Custom"! |

In 1989 or 90, Ford converted from speed/density (what you need) to Mass airflow (what you have).
My kid just swapped his 88 Mustang the other way to use the MAF sensor. The computer plugs right in, just needed a couple of wires, which would be extras in your case. That lower half of the intake is so inviting, I had toyed with the idea of trying to put 8 butterflies inline and tilting the stacks slightly so the bells would clear. Wasn't really his thing, so we never pursued it. Anyway, you'll need a S/D computer. I can ask if he still has his if you're interested...

Most of the companies that make the individual runner injection kit use their own stand alone computer (ECU). Hilborn, Roush, Imagine Injection, Inglese all offer systems as do others

NO! the individual Runner or "Stack" type injections don't run Mass Air Flow - in order to do so you would need a big ass air box that fit to all the injector tubes and then had a single inlet to attach the MAF to. That kind of kills the whole idea of the injection and looking like an old gasser set up - but it would look like a later Indy Car. You will need to get a complete kit with wiring, manifold, injectors etc.

Hilborn Electronic is the Best looking in my mind - closest to Traditional style that you can get! http://hilborninjection.com/category.asp?Id=176

Hilborn sprint injector would be the obvious choice. BUT you will have to add the EFI injector bungs below the throttle plates. Hilborn and Kinsler both make new EFI conversion manifolds for the SBF...just make sure you are sitting down when you read the price.
Going ALL aftermarket is the BEST choice, but the Ford ECU can be tuned with a piggyback or aftermarket chip. Good thing is, there is a LOT of support for that engine due to its popularity in late model drag racing. (LOL, what ^^^he^^^ said.)

The injectors should work based on the VE curve of the engine itself. The butterflies will need to be larger, but the total air mass used by each cylinder shouldn't change that much with no further mods.
By 88 the 5.0s were sequential (8 negative side transistors, anyway)...that's about all I can tell you.
