Thanks for all the input. I'm glad that most everybody is liking the wheel color. It looks like it comes down to tires and stance.

Squat down and take a few pictures of the car from about 2 feet above the ground. And stand back a ways, and zoom in on the car, and take them from more of an angle, both from the front and the rear.
You know, the way we actually look at cars ![]() btw I like it as it is, from what I can see. |

No, just trying to help you get some better pictures of your car, so we can get a better idea of what it looks like. Photography is tricky...I've been trying for about 40 years and still don't do very well.

Gotcha. My Dad took them and thats the only pictures I have right now. I'll have to take some time and get some better shots of it.

Ok, I dig the cream wheels and black walls, but I would drop it just a hair in the back to compliment the front. Right now you have the nose down, that's "hot rod", and that screams for blackwalls and small caps. If the tail was down lower than the front (silly lookin' in my humble opinion...) then you would be in "custom" territory, and ugly white walls would be a fit... Stay on the dark side! (just drop the tail a touch, trust me on this one!)

Of all that I've seen and heard here, my preference would be the combo in the 1st picture that you showed us. The wheel color is good and the caps and rings with the blackwalls look good too. It appears that you are running big and littles and your car has a nice stance as it sits... Cool ride!

I'm think the cream, no caps, black wall look is pretty tough

Leave the wheels and tires alone. Paint the top to match the wheels.

After looking at all of your opinions I decided to stick with the wheels and tires that I already have and lower the rear down and get some better pictures. So here it is 2" lower in the rear and my rocker moldings installed.

Personally I'd just paint the wheels body color, put the hubcaps back on, ditch the trim rings and call it done. Or just leave it as is but ditch the rings, I think it would look better without 'em.

I like it how you've got it right now. Especially that first pic out of the three. With the front rubber smaller than the rear and a pretty standard rake it looks mean, like it wants to eat the car in front of it! Thats a look i don't see very often on the 54's... which makes me like it more. The look makes me want to know whats under the hood.
I agree that if you go WW you'll need to change the stance to accommodate that "look" but F that. Stance and tires can completely change a car, some people say its what makes a car. Thats just what i think. But since you were only asking about the wheel color. I say leave it. This reminds me of a buddy that finishes projects and then tries to do all these little changes because he's bored now that there's nothing to do. I tell him thats when you know its time for a new project! |

That really would make the whole thing POP!

It looks fine the way it is especially the fact you have used the cheap 54 cap down the road I could see a thin white wall for a more of a early 60's look.

I like it. But here's my thought. If you are running caps and rings I think it looks better to have the wheel a darker colour. The chrome sort of gets lost on light coloured wheels. Body colour or even black perhaps. Definately dark if you go with wide whites. A narrow white you could go either way...
