That was a car version of the mullet. Business up top and party out back. Looks great now. What color blue is that?

Josh, the sedan looks GREAT! Really like the blue paint with the black frame and stripe. In the one pic, that's my coupe chassis in the foreground....how time flies. How does the sedan like the Waukesha streets, or should I say poor excuse for streets. Hope to see you at the "Gasthaus" one of these Wednesdays. - Denny

You profess to save this beautiful car by getting rid of the vw pan and drivetrain then you put a bowtie engine in a blue oval. You my friend are only slightly better than the cretin that had the car before you.

I love the grill insert. I've been wanting to do something like that on my Sedan but just haven't got to it yet.

I'm wondering, in looking at the original hack-job, why it was never finished in that configuration? All it needed was steering, brake pedals, fuel plumbing, some wire and a few bolts, right? Not that it would have been RIGHT that way, but it should have RUN. Maybe the previous "owner" finally had a Colonel Nicholson "Oh God, what have I done?" moment?
Seriously, though, good to see it saved and it's a very pretty and 'right' car (if it were mine I'd run a hood but it's not so...) I won't rag on the 327 as even flathead Henrys can be a bit too much of a cliche these days (he says, ducking...) and hot rodding much as anything is about running what you've got. I'm looking at the 'before' pictures thinking that keeping the VW trailing-arm IFS on the new frame might have been a good way to 'memorialize' the car's history (he says, ducking again...) I wish it were my home garage, but I've got a kick ass boss that let's me use work as my own, as long as I fix some regular cars during work hours.......
