Default 1962 Ford Fairlane 500 4dr

Location: Chicago   Price: 3800 obo
Sold

1962 Ford Fairlane 500.
$2500
The hard part is done on this car.
Fresh completely rebuilt (less than 300 miles ago) 200 (L6) motor and C4 automatic trans.
Motor and trans came out of a 1978 Mustang.
Motor and trans were completely torn apart and rebuilt with all new American Made parts. I have all the receipts to back this up.
Front coil springs, rear leaf springs, and all four shocks were replaced last year.
The rear end was just serviced and the drive shaft got new U joints and was balanced.
The brakes were serviced last year, but then the car was stored so there is probably less than 500 miles on them, but because it sat, there is a wheel cylinder that is sticking and for the $11.99 that is costs.. it shouldn't be a problem. The brakes are a drum/drum manual set up.
Changes to the car were the addition of a Holley 350 CFM 2bbl carb all hooked up with Lokar throttle cable, bracket and, kick-down. Replaced the 62 Fairlane accelerator pedal with one from a 73 Ford Maverick. Radiator was not replaced but it does have a new drain cock, cap, and lines.

The old generator is gone, but even better is the 1 wire 63amp Chevy alternator that works well and should stay there as it suits the purpose. Please note that there were no wires cut or removed from the car. All original wiring is neatly tucked away in case someone wants to restore and the voltage regulator was left in place.
On the inside I replaced the old carpet and added a hidden USB/MP3/AUX radio in the glove box.
Also added 2 rear seat belts and a rear 6 x 9 speaker. But I suggest that a speaker cover be added. I also added gauges under the dash. . .that's always a good idea for peace of mind.
The taillights are brand new.
Tires are new
No cracks in any of the glass

The heater motor and blower was rebuilt last year and I also replaced the collar, and it was working awesome, however the heater core needs replaced so I disconnected it.

The outside of the car needs metal work on the rockers, behind left pass door, lower quarters, lower fenders, driver toe board, and a couple of spots in the trunk.
I have two new rockers and the toe board.
I was going to add door poppers and fill in the holes, so in light of that I removed the broken radio antennae with the intention of putting a hidden one under the dash and filling all the holes at same time.
The headliner needs to be sewn in one spot, but it's not ripped.
The top of the back seat has sun damage and driver seat needs repair.

The car still has the original jack and all the jack accessories.
This car runs and sounds great. It does have a Thrush Glass-pack for that perfect rhythm/rumble while accelerating.
I have the original Ford steel wheels (14x6), steel Foxcroft fender skirts, and hubcaps.

So basically. . . this car needs a heater core, some light interior work, a speedo cable, 1 wheel cylinder, and some bodywork.
All the rest is done!
Sorry, but this car will not support wheels bigger than 15's, so no donk.

Payment is thru Pay pal or cash in hand only.
Shipping is the sole responsibility of the buyer.
You may see and hear it in person.
I have been as honest as possible, but there is no warranty.

FOR SALE AS IS, WHERE IS

If you live in the Chicagoland area and want to see it, we meet at the Belmont and Western Police station, my friend will hold your drivers license, one person only on test drive (for my safety).
