I'm looking at picking up a 55-57 GM OD tranny. The rear case is stamped R10X-1. I can't find anything on the R10X - lots on other R10 codes - R10H, R10E, R10G, etc..
Any idea what X signified? Would the parts swap over to my R10H-1? It looks exactly like my 55 R10H-1 (no rear crossmember mount). Any help appreciated. |

Thanks for the welcome. I've been into 55s for 30 years.
I'm just considering this tranny, the pics aren't mine. Sure looks like my R10H-1. I wonder what the X meant. |
