Sometimes when I do this stuff I really don't know how it will turn out and have often been pleasantly surprised. Steve's '47 is a good example of that. The bad part is I end up wanting to build what I photoshopped! That white '61 Ford sedan delivery is a good example. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/s...d.php?t=664750 Its also very gratifying to see my work used as an example on someones real project. Big grins for sure! As much fun as photoshopping is, I'd much rather be working on the real thing. Got a little kitty going now that I'm working seven days a week and hope to find something this summer or fall. More than likely it will be a Ford. I'd love to get hold of another '56 F100 or a '56 Customline or Crown Vic. The 429 on my engine stand really needs a new home!

This is looking so good! You are my inspiration to finish the Desotos and never stop believing in the end result. Thanks for the many pics, great job.

Okay Steve, here's the (sorta) Ute version with the ZZTop style slanted B pillars.
Believe it or not I'm having a hard time finding flatbed picture material for the beater flatbed version but I'll keep trying. Hows the bodywork coming on the '47? Eli

Thanks Eli ! Any chance you could lengthen the wheelbase between the door and back wheel about 6 inches? I think it might look good and isnt all that much more work ,considering what I have to work with lol! I did some metal work for a friend last week to help him along, and finally decided to get a look at my dead cummins pick up....which I finally figured out what is wrong with it, shutoff solenoid has fried inside and was shorted to the engine block, but its stuck so that no fuel can get through the truck to start it, it looks like a real pain to get it out too, but at least I know whats wrong now! Back to the 47 this week.

Another hack photoshop from Eli's Hack&Chop Shop!
Not sure if this is 6 inches, maybe more like 6-7/8". I see what you mean, stretching it definitely looks better and I hope you do build it. That would be a cool parts chaser!

I am liking that! I wonder if I could make the s10 chassis (heavy enough" to pull a car trailer with such a contraption
and really use it as a proper parts chaser...If I had time that would be a cool one to try in 1/25th scale first!

Pull a trailer!!you want it all. I always wanted a 4 banger parts haller.. I find you tend to do alot of driving and most times it just parts.. But then again this is Steve he not happy till there is a whole car to hall home!! lol.. Very cool idea all the same.

Hmmm, not a bad idea. I'll see what I can come up with. I'll look into the Ute window too. I kinda get the feeling though that if Steve builds this he'll be hanging onto it. Hell I damn sure would!

Its on the injecter pump body, some info I found says you have to take the top off the pump, but I have found some other stuff sayin you dont have to ...I just have to get it out so I can pull out the guts from it,then reinstall it and will use a pull cable to shut the truck down.... at least thats the plan lol!

I Like alot! Kinda gives the tailgate area a frenched(?) look, the tailight form on the inside with the quarters a bit longer looks great on these cars.... if you want to rework it some more I still have some other ideas

More chop..( I like em low !) smaller back window, might be hard to do but 41-48 Ford is preferred cause I have one, filled wheel well on the back with a nice long cruiser skirt...hows that for now ...I feel bad for makin you do all this work Eli!
