Yes. Looks like an old pre unit BSA 650. Maybe a Road Rocket?

Ford Mahwah refers to the Ford assembly plant once located in Mahwah, NJ. It started production in the mid '50s and built Edsels during their heyday. The doors closed in the early '80s.

Back then,(late 40's & thru the 50's) Guys were buying all the "Limey" bikes from England, etc.
    Some of those were: Arials--Vincents--BSAs--Triumphs--etc.

One thing that comes to mind. Due
to the massive U.S. troop build-up
in Britain, starting a couple of years
prior to the D-Day invasion, British
men in general and British soldiers in
    particular, had the famed, often
    muttered lament about the Americans,
claiming they were - quote - "Overpaid,
    over sexed....and over here!

playing Army...I'm the three year old pud on the left, my sister on the far right and the other two kids lived across the street.
Nothing could have been better growing up back then. We were all more than happy in our family's 900 sq. ft. houses and wearing t-shirts in the middle of winter.

THANKS for the catch on Richard Crenna as Walter Denton
and Gale Gordon as Ol' Marblehead in '50s TV's "Our Miss Brooks"!

    Photos (up/down) THANKS to s225.photobucket and dibblyfresh1.

Eve Ardin did a quasi-reprise of her '50s "Our Miss Brooks"
role, this time as Principal McGee of Rydell High in the smash
movie musical, "Grease." The shots above are as she delivers
the closing line in her daily "P.A." remarks to the whole student
    body. What a classic!

at least be an athletic supporter!"

If I'm not mistaken and my memory hasn't completely faded, this is George "Buddy" Byers Jr. of Columbus, Ohio in the "Chrysler Crew," powered by two supercharged hemis.

He ruled the APBA 7-litre class in what was first "Miss DeSoto," with the older hemi. That boat became the "Chrysler Queen" with the demise of the DeSoto. It was my understanding that when the newer hemi arrived, Chrysler wanted to go unlimited racing and decided to take on the Allisons and Merlins with a pair of them.

I'd like to add that I dearly love this thread. Aircraft, cars, trucks, people standing around, old advertisements, old city photos - everything. Once you catch up with it you have to check every single day or you'll spend all your time catching up again.

Thanks to everyone who has a part in it.
