"The add is perhaps from 1922. It reads:
DRIVE "STANLEY" STEAM CAR
and you will always avoid sooted sparkplugs, clutch and gearshifts, Magnet- and carbuerator disturbance, Carbon Dioxide poisoning, annoying motor vibrations
Dealer address, telephone number and Dealer Demand a demonstration

The add was shown before the movie in a Danish movie-theater."

Speaking of both steam cars and Oldsmobiles,
here's a pic encompasses both.

Steam Motor Car - Circa 1890

They're hosted elsewhere (Photobucket, etc.). Yours are attachments hosted at the Jalopy Journal, and appear full size if you click on them, wait for them to appear, then click on them a second time.

I was going to ask the same question. I wonder what the motor is - looks odd with what appears to be two cylinders but only one exhaust. My kids found a modern version of it on you tube. Not sure what it is called now.

It is a one wheel motorcycle built by Italian M. Goventosa from Udine which is in Northeast Italy.

I think it is a single because if you look close there in only one lead from the mag. What looks like it maybe a second plug on the left I think is maybe a compression release for starting because I can see a lever a with a cable attached to it. The cable goes under the tank and heads back towards the steering wheel.
