Future President Ron Reagan shills for Chesterfield cigarettes, circa 1951.
THANKS to lovehateadvertising,wordpress.com. Times have really
    changed in 50 years!

Back in the early '60s, Winston was the sponsor
of "The Flintstones." Per TV custom of the day,
the "stars" of the show would often plug their
sponsor's product at some point during the program.
Seems very funny now, seen in the rearview mirror,
but here Fred & Wilma relax with a Winston at the
    close of one episode.

Nothing political or preachy in stating the OBVIOUS:
Man! Times surely have changed in 50 years! LOL

This Flinstones cell is THANKS to yesbutnobutyes.com.
Thanks also to the series creators, Bill Hanna and Joe
Barbera, who retain rights to their characters.

I don't know HOW many Elvis records I've got, MOST with Nipper listening to "His Master's Voice" !!! I never once considered he might have been modeled after a real dog.

Anybody know the background? Did Nipper actually DO that (listen to an old hand-cranked Victrola), and somebody thought it was cute & decided to USE the image?

Here the late tattoo artist Ben Cordy adorns the back
of a WWI veteran with patriotic images and that of a
woman and galloping horse. Date unknown. Fasci-
nating pic is from the collection of tattoo historian
and aficionado "Doc" Balsch and is THANKS to Cat
    Spencer!

Also from Doc Balsch's collection of the rare and unusual,
blacksmith Rasmuth Blacksmith of Angels Camp, California,
demonstrates his strength and nerve by lifting a 250-pound
iron anvil by his pecs. The phto is from 1935. Blacksmith
reportedly traveled with the circus as a tattooed strongman

June 1919, British aviators Alcock and Brown are knighted
by George V for becoming the first to make a non-stop Atlantic
flight. Hey! A knighthood AND a landing you could walk away
from! Isn't that the old definition of a "good" landing?

May 26, 1909, must have been "Straw Hat Day." Wear a straw
hat and see the quirky balloon fly for FREE!!! LOL Of course, I'm
shitting you, folks! Actually this was called the Baldwin Balloon,
but there were no more facts on source, Shorpy, whom I THANK
sincerely. This photo is from the George Bain Collection.
