Thanks for sharing. That is one beautiful building. If I was old enough to remember it I dont even know if it would be cooler. Wish I could have lived back in those days!

I've been told that Riverside in the 30s was paradise. It was still paradise in the 50s and 60s. It may have lost a bit of its sheen today (thanks mainly to frozen easterners coming out here to thaw out but unfortunately not going back) but I can't think of anywhere else I would want to live.

This old Chevy building sits about a mile from my house. It probably hasn't been used as a dealership for at least 50 years if not more.

They paved Paradise, and put up a parking lot...

One song I absolutely hate, but the line fits.

Gee, how about yet another CVS or Walgreen's? Or, a WallyWorld Superstore? Can't have too many corner convenience stores, either!

Hey CAB Ryan, looks like you're doin' your bit to save/advance Googie architecture in particular and "cruise culture" in general.

That's a crying shame. It's probably for the renovated Fox theater. That digital marque is ridiculous. I wish something could be done. In Ventura, we lost an old Burger stand called the Hat. I need to stop by for sure. The features on that building scream Art Deco, its simply beautiful. I love old American architecture. Thanks for letting us know Axle.
