I know this has been covered before but I couldn't find anything on how to do it. I know it can be done with some modifications, I've seen them before. What all is entailed in making the swap?

It won't work at all...for one the wheelbase is different and so the wheels will not center in the wheelwells. While the cabs are almost the same, the fenders will not simply bolt on to a 42-27.

Pretty much pull just the cab off a 42-47 pickup, and put it on a 40 chassis, and bolt all the 40 stuff too it. 42-47 are badass, just leave it.
