Recent Revell (Monogram) reissue, '36 Ford. Scratchbuilt skirts, Model Car Garage photoetched '38 LaSalle grille, resin chopped top from Replicas & Miniatures Co. of Md., '61 Impala wheel covers with a bullet added, Frenched tailights from Bob Dudek. That sure was a wild ass New Years Eve party !
that 36 looks great, where did you pick up that hood ornament? south baltimore? finished up my 49 ford this week, jimmy flintstone body. I think the license plate is going to get changed though. looks kind of strange once I se eit in pictures. next project is going to be butchering a few 49 coupes to make a chopped c-dan.
Nice work. I love the frenched antennaes (sp?). Its the little touches like that that really make a build.
If you'll forgive me, a little unfinished work in progress. A mid-sixties Chevy powered Top Fuel car. About 50% of the kit frame was replaced with some .080" Evergreen styrene rod. The engine and most of it's components were all sourced form my spare parts. The body is still in the "paint shop".
is that a kustom only model thread or what ? both look great guys ! here is my latest : "Gloria" Started with amt's 58 Impala, with just a little shave, closer to the ground , and some wild panel paint ! I've changed the interior for some tuck n roll done with evergreen v groove . The rest is very classic : 59 Caddy tailites from revell's big caddy, grille bar from the kit , dummys from the same source, www and lancers from The Modelhaus, simulated chrome tape on the roof and as always club plaque from my fictitious car club done by a friend of mine Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki edit : oops sorry guys, i did post my "kustom only" comments because there was only the 36 and the 50, but i was a little too long to post my pics !!!
Zed - fantastic job, as always. You need to be painting 1:1 cars,,,,,,,,,or maybe you do that for a living?
Just a few more past builds from my shelf... 29 AV8 on duece rails Chopped 27 T Old AMT 63 Ford truck found at flea market for $2. Started like this. After stripping the paint and a little body work and paint this is what i built.. Later ~ Mike
thanks a lot Lyle.. no i'm not a real painter ! it would be kool to try on real stuff... but more expensive ... and harder !
Awesome builds everyone. This is what I'm working on this week, Revell 32 5 window. I decided I wanted to have posable front wheels on this one. it turned out to be a lot of work, but I think it will pay off. It just needs to be taken back apart and cleaned up some, and some bolt details added.
Please overlook the rough look on this. It is a design exercise I have had in my head for several years. I used the horribly molded Lindbergh 1940 Ford coupe as a base that came with the Dodge L700. I didn't want to potentially trash a decent AMT or Revell kit. The Lindbergh kit varies from way too thick in places and way to thin in others. Some of the relief molding for things like the deck lid and cowl vent are way light. The windshield opening doesn't look the correct shape either. Nonetheless it has worked for getting the shape I wanted. I filled the back of the door line and stretched the new line back a bit till I thought it looked right. The silly Plymouth Prowler wheels and tires are there for set-up only. It will most likely end up with a set of steelies.
here's my contribution this fine Sunday afternoon. the "Mad Hatter" '25 T Altered. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o> </o> Dave
You guy's have inspired me to step up to the plate.I've had this model sitting on my shelf for about 4 years. With the intent to use the model for ideas of what i'm going to do with my real 51 HT.Back then,I use to build models at an average scale and beat the crap out of them.First time i've gone to this level. Thanks guy's.I dig the Sunday model show.Enjoy.
looking good as always guy's . well i have'nt built any in awhile , but i have been seeing the fantastic models on here and thought i would jump in . my hands are'nt steady enough for the plastic models anymore , so i have gone over to the hubleys metal models . here is a chopped top model a coupe that i am working on and a mock up as to the look that i am going for .
56 Mercedes 300SL Gullwing "Wingless Flyer" Nascar twin turbo charged engine custom built chassis Tons of mods Mustang II interior and dash.
33 Willy X-CAB Started as a 33 sedan delivery cut it down and moved the rear forward to make an ext. cab Truck has blackforce slammer fenders and a blown LS-6 454 with a 4 speed prowler trailer with coupe fenders molded onto it also has a custom built chassis to clear the suspension sitting low.
hey 50shoe , what paint is that on your 49 ford ? i was thinking of satin black on my chopped hubley ,but gold metal flake with white trim would be nice also . by the way , nice work on your 49
So do we only have 1 sunday models thread this week? Impressive! Also nice looking models as always; great motivation for next sunday...
Damn theres some nice stuff on here! Zed, that 58 is PERFECT! You need to pour some Miracle Grow on it and make it life size! I love it, great job.
Lyle, your 36 Ford looks so sweet. The chopped top on it never looks so good than on this car... very nice. ZED!!!... ZED!!! will it ever stop.. every time we keep telling you you outdid yourself again.. This cannot go on any longer. The interior looks killer. Glad you decided to not use the stock interior. Perfect!
