Went to a friends last month, and walked across the road to the neighbors who like the tri-5s. while there i notices a 55 wagon in the back . so i ask what you gona do with it. he says probley call the junk man to haul it off .so you know what i did.... we went back today to get the wagon . its a striped parts car, with a lot of rust, but i couldnt see it crushed. while there we're talking to the owner ,i tell him id like to make a gasser type car out of it seeing how its bad with the rust . it has no front end so i say id put a flip 'glass front end on it. he says his son-in law has one behind his shop. so we ride over and he has one that came off a car he bought year ago , and now its a cover for an engine behind his shop. its rough but with fiberglass its fixable. so $50 later were loading a front end up along with a 1955 2 door chevy wagon ...... just what i need . another prodject...:D

What would you use for a front axle ? One from a 1960's chevy van? Just curious.

vans will work . but i have several 50's truck axles. the later 50's have a parallel springs. the early 50's have the springs that taper at the front.

  16. Take a look at RacerRick's thread where he's putting a whole new chassis and floor under one of these wagons.
