Rich Fox is the "expert". I can relay some of what he has conveyed to me. 28-32 same bore and stroke. 28-31 poured babbit bearing, 32 Insert. Late '32 has some type of counterweighted crank.

I have some information on these motors. 3 mains, but well up inside the block. Think Y block. Full pressure oil. They have good and bad points.

Y not? Now if it's mains you want your thinking about a Dodge Bros. There is some nice info on a Dodge Fast Four Bonneville record roadster posted right now.

When I was a young brash man, the San Diego Police had PBs. 4 cylinders. I loved it that they had them. My roadster could outrun them at top speed when I was in low gear!
I think they had trouble catching a stock Model A!

Jack, Those cops just didn't want to catch you. The Ply is 3 5/8 X 4 3/4 stock. Not really a buzz motor. The Dodge is 3 7/8 X 4 1/2. Dodge has 5 mains. No pressure oil except to the cam. One is running very well at Bonneville right now. See other threads.

Rich do you know what the rod journal size is (in the intrest of an offset grind to destroke) as well as max bore and any other info you might have. I think the 5 mains would be a good advantage over the ford banger if the dodge motor has a counter balanced crank.

Exnay on the counter balanced crank for the Dodge. Pete welded counter weights on his crank along with many other mods. The stock crank throw dia is 1 5/8. Mains are 1 3/4. I bored my Dodge to 4 inches and am having a destroker crank made with 2 inch SBC pins, mains line bored to fit some Hundi main inserts, counter weights on it, drilled for oil, flywheel flange to fit a SBF flywheel since I am using a SBF blow shield and starter. Snout to take a SBC dampener as they are common. In all it's cheaper than welding and all the stock crank. Looks like mine will be an OHV Morton & Brett head.
